Ezequiel "El Tigre" Sabella hails from the city of Rosario, tango city par excellence, part of the historic triangle of port cities that shaped the Tango, along with Montevideo and the Federal Capital (Buenos Aires).

 

In 2006, when he was only 22 years old, he began his studies of what is usually called "Tango Dance" and he also started an intense romance that led him to investigate the history of Tango, music, the historical context socio-political where this heritage of humanity is built, its poetry, the great creators, their life stories, who they were and why. Also the cinema, radio and the world of tango in its entirety.

 

In his beginnings as a dancer he integrated numerous ballets in the city of Rosario, performing shows in private spaces, public, television, and theater. Some of the scenarios of these presentations were: National Monument to the Flag, Rural Society of Buenos Aires, Convention Center Patio de la Madera, Casino Victoria Hotel, Metropolitan Congress of Tango Rosario, Contemporary Expressions Center; theaters such as: Mateo Booz, La Comedia, Saulo Benavente, De La Plaza Theater, Cosmopolitan Theater; Tango Monumental Festival, Rosario Stock Exchange, National Festival of Communities, among others.

 

 

TEACHER

In his work as a teacher he seeks the teaching of social tango, the traditional Argentine Tango, mainly in Milonguero style. His classes aim to reinforce the connection of the milongueros with the four constituent factors of social dance: oneself, the couple, music, and physical space. One of his favorite subjects when giving classes is the musicality through the different periods of tango and the musical interpretation of the different typical orchestras.

 

Another of his activities as a teacher has to do with the lectures and lectures about History of Tango, where he develops topics such as: "Origin and Evolution of the Orquesta Típica", "La Guardia Vieja and the first sound records", "The Great Orchestras Typical of the 40s ", among other topics.

 

For two years now he has begun to give seminars aimed at the training of all those who want to start experimenting in the complex world of the Musicalization of a milonga.

 

He has taught in numerous renowned institutions and clubs in the city of Rosario, such as: Club Atlético Newell's Old Boys, Racing Club, Echesortu Futbol Club, Center Catalá Rosario, Gangitana Family Association, Rosario Stock Exchange, La Percha Theater, Theater From La Plaza, CASA DEL TANGO ROSARIO.

In 2012 he began to explore in the world of the music of milongas, a trade to which he dedicates himself fully since then. He has musicalized in more than half of the provinces of Argentina, making him one of the most federal Djs in the country.

 

His style, already a personal brand, seeks to sink into the bowels of the traditional Tango of the 40's, always leaving place for "his beloved" Old Guard, and also for new orchestras.

In 2013, together with the teacher and dancer Gaby Cuesta, she created a Tango class and research space that later would be called "EL REVIRE", until the end of 2015 with the presence of great orchestras and dancers. Christian Márquez (El Toti) & Anabella Brogiolli, Daniel Urquilla & Silvana Capra, Moira Castellanos & Gastón Torelli, Julio Balmaceda & Corina De La Rosa, Alejandra Mantiñan & Gonzalo Angeles, Mariana Dragone & Pablo Rodríguez, Karina Colmeiro & Claudio Cortejarena, Susana Bosio & Sergio Bustos, La Trifulca Trio, Carlos Quilici Orquesta Típica, La Menesunda, Metrópoli Duo.

In 2014, he faced one of the biggest challenges as an organizer in his city: the TANGUERO DEL INTERIOR ENCOUNTER (ETI). The RosarigasETI called the city of Rosario to almost a thousand milongueros from all corners of Argentina, plus countless participants from Uruguay, Chile and many other countries. Three nights of milongas, a milonga at the National Flag Monument and a massive barbecue. A large list of teachers and orchestras was also called: Horacio "Pebete" Godoy & Eladia Córdoba, Sabastián De La Vallina & Mariana Dragone, Damián & Oscar Paiva, Diego Pérez & Soledad Cantarini, Sexteto Milonguero, La Trifulca Trío, Sexteto Vendaval, Orquesta Típica La Maleva, La Borra de Café. The highlight was to have the outstanding presence of Maestro Alberto Podestá in a strongly emotional presentation.

 

In 2015, together with Gaby Cuesta, Patricia "La Roja" Mateos, and María Cabrera, they created a tango festival for the city of Rosario, bringing together teachers, orchestras, and musicians from the city and BsAs. This is how the "EMBRUJO TANGO" festival was born, already in its fourth edition this year. Guest artists: Virginia Pandolfi & Jonathan Aguero, Jimena Hoeffner & Fernando Carrasco, Corina De La Rosa & Alejandro Andrián. Orquesta Típica Sans Soucí, Mulenga Quartet, Orquesta Retorno De Tango, Rosarina 2x4, Juan Iriarte and Los Cuadrados del Tango.

 

In 2016, he created "LA CHICAGO", a milonga of which he is currently organizer and musician. The Chicago is a traditional milonga that seeks to bring the old and glorious eras of Tango closer: the club, the neighborhood, the homemade food. It promotes the preservation of the Milonga Codes, and above all, the best music of the 40's. They have participated in La Chicago: Fernando Galera & Aurora Lúbiz, Florencia Zárate & Guido Palacios. Juan Iriarte and the Squares of Tango.

A guy I had the pleasure of watching him dance, select music in detail, I saw him have fun, I saw him laugh and I saw him cry, cry with irrepressible emotion ... I saw him also with a lost look trying to understand ... As if it were easy to understand a passion or the same love ...
